UV-C radiation is the shortest-wave emission in the ultraviolet radiation range and a component of natural sunlight. However, the human eye cannot perceive this wavelength range UV-C radiation is therefore invisible to humans.

UV-C radiation does not occur naturally on Earth because this wavelength is completely absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere. As a result, living organisms - from the smallest microorganisms to humans - have not been able to develop any natural resistance to this type of radiation in the course of evolution. UV-C radiation attacks the RNA of a virus so that it is irreversibly damaged. The virus can no longer reproduce or settle on mucous membranes and is thus harmless.

Practically everywhere indoors, wherever people come together and there is a risk of infection transmission through aerosols. For example, medical facilities, educational institutions, public facilities and authorities, clinics, etc. can benefit from RZB CARE solutions.

Essentially, there are three parameters to consider in order to achieve the optimum disinfection performance for a room:

- the frequency of people

- the air volume of the room

- the power of the unit.

You should generally pay attention to the following criteria:

- Total air flow capacity in m³/h

- Closedness of the system

- Durability or guarantee

- Maintenance effort

UV-C radiation is extremely aggressive, especially in direct contact and in the close vicinity of the radiation source. Therefore, solutions must be designed so that people and animals can never come into direct contact with this radiation. With inferior radiation sources, there is also a risk of ozone formation, which is particularly problematic for people with respiratory diseases.

Air that may be contaminated with viruses is led past powerful UV-C radiation sources by means of fans. For the RZB CARE products, the exact speed at which the fans must operate in order to achieve an effective disinfection performance has been determined in cooperation with external test institutes and laboratories.

Radiation can be generated by both conventional and LED sources. We are using conventional radiation sources for the time being, as they are significantly more efficient than LEDs.

Most of RZB CARE products are manufactured at our company headquarters in Bamberg, Germany. This enables us to guarantee the highest quality and reliability and ensure smooth customer service.

The warranty for all RZB CARE devices covers 2 years.

The units were tested both in our in-house laboratories and at the VDE. The focus was on technical safety, but of course also on the effectiveness of the units.

In the case of products that disinfect the air exclusively with UV-C radiation, the UV-C lamp must be replaced approx. every 9,000 hours. Some products use HEPA filters in addition to the UV-C radiation source. Such filters must be replaced approximately every 5,000 hours. Our product development department is currently working on solutions for the automated display of necessary lamp and filter changes.

UV-C lamps are fluorescent tubes and are therefore classified as hazardous waste. Small quantities can be handed in at local collection points or recycling centers.

RZB CARE does not offer a direct "assembly and installation service". However, most of the units are designed in such a way that assembly and commissioning do not require the help of a specialist. According to the "plug-and-play" principle, after unpacking the product, usually only the plug has to be plugged into the socket and the device is ready for operation.
